I have been drumming since I could hold a pair of sticks, but was not rhythmically worth a damn until I joined my first band at 13. I try to play guitar, bass, and violin as well, but can only truly claim to be a drummer.

I love and live for The Grateful Dead, but listen to everything from Tupac and Biggie to Simon and Garfunkel and everything in between. Artists I love worth mentioning include Medeski Martin & Wood, Stanton Moore of Galactic, Phish, Zappa, and Jon Scofield. I also have a very strong reggae influences that keeps me groovin' and skankin'.

I found my way to becoming a member of the Groove through good people and good luck (although bad luck played a more direct role however in their need for a drummer). But before that I enjoyed and "played" with the Groove from the dance floor. The transition from audience to band member has brought some of the greatest musical experiences I have had in my 20 some years.

I am currently going to school at Purdue in West Lafayette, but come home as often as I can to practice/perform with the band. But if anyone needs a place to crash while passing thru Lafayette, we got plenty of couch and floor space.

I wanna say thanks and much love to all members of the Groove past and present, and especially to you fans that keep us going.

See you at the next show, don't forget to dance! be easy now,
Lynn "Skyn" Nicholson

-one last shout out to Troy McKee who showed me how to truly Groove. You're the man Troy!

God help the child who rings that bell
It may have one good ring left, you can't tell
One watch by night, one watch by day
If you get confused just listen to the music play
