I
began playing classical piano at age 5 and continued studying until age
17. I spent a few years learning a few other stringed instruments
including; guitar, mandolin, violin, and banjo. This exploration
led me to bluegrass and folk music and eventually the Grateful Dead.
How was I to know I would venture into and be influenced by many
different of genre of music; trance, dance, jazz, folk, reggae, blues,
world, electronic and experimental. I am continually
amazed at the power of music in our lives.
I
started playing mandolin with Grateful Groove at its inception, however,
had to take an extended leave due to some family issues. Around
December 2003, I managed to find my way back to this crazy bunch of
people and they welcomed me with open arms. How thankful I am of
that!
My
love for this music is present in my everyday life. I am seldom
NOT reminded of this music as I pass my days and nights with those I
meet and greet! It is a pleasure to be playing these wonderful
pieces with this crazy band of rooty-toots.
Let
there be songs to fill the air and may the four winds blow you safely
home!
